Six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man and woman were found dead with stab wounds.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command South have launched a murder investigation following the deaths in Dorset Road, Stockwell yesterday.
Police were called just after 4pm amid concerns for the welfare of a man – but when they arrived with paramedics, they found two people inside the address with multiple stab injuries.
Despite the best efforts of officers and medics, a 44-year-old-man and a 56-year-old woman were later pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard, who is leading the investigation, said: “I understand that this is an extremely shocking incident for the residents of this area and the wider community.
“The investigation is at a very early stage but my team and I are working hard to establish the full circumstances that led up to this tragic incident.”
