Son charged with murder after father in 50s is found stabbed to death

A man has been charged with murder after his father was found stabbed to death late at night on Tuesday.

Sean Maurice, 29, of Widmore Road, Bromley, was charged on the evening of September 15 and is due to appear at the Old Bailey next Monday.

Cops were called to Widmore Road, at 10.51pm on Tuesday, September 14, following reports of a stabbing.

It was there they found Sean’s 51-year-old father Paul Maurice with multiple stab wounds.

He was given emergency medical treatment at the scene but he was pronounced dead just before midnight.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Paul Maurice gave his cause of death as stab wounds to his chest.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Sean Maurice was charged with murder at Bromley Magistrates’ Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody until his hearing at the Old Bailey on Monday, September 20.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood said: “Our thoughts are with the victim at this very difficult time.

“We are in the early stages of our investigation and my team are working to establish what has happened here.

“Anyone who has information that could be useful to our investigation is asked to make contact with us.”
