‘A bit of quality” – Wealdstone boss pleased with Crystal Palace youngster’s substitute debut
Matt Taylor praised Jack Wells-Morrison after the Crystal Palace loanee was subbed on at half-time to help Wealdstone secure a point at last season’s play-off finalists Solihull Moors.
The 20-year-old was loaned out by the Eagles on deadline day for his first taste of senior football – joining the National League side on Friday until January 2025.
Midfielder Wells-Morrison was brought on at half-time by ex-Shrewsbury boss Taylor for Christian Scott.
Wellstone scored in the 56th minute to claim their fifth point from six National League outings.
Wells-Morrison was subbed on alongside Fulham loanee Callum McFarlane.
Taylor told Wealstone’s website: “Jack bought a bit of calmness and a bit of quality in midfield.
“He got on the ball and he competed really well for second balls as well.
“We have signed two good-quality, young footballers that fit into our group.
“We also know that while they’re good players, they’re good people.
“That’s the big thing for us.”
