Are Swindon Town coaches set to join Ben Garner at Charlton Athletic? Addicks owner Thomas Sandgaard responds
Thomas Sandgaard says that Ben Garner will have the personnel he needs to make him a success at Charlton but has played down anything being imminent on the new manager bringing in two of his coaches from the County Ground.
Garner was announced as the Addicks’ boss today on a three-year contract.
And our website reported previously that Charlton were also looking to agree a deal for Swindon assistant coaches Scott Lindsey and Scott Marshall.
The League Two club are understood to want compensation for the pair.
Asked if there was an update on potential backroom arrivals, Sandgaard told the South London Press: “There’s really nothing going on at this point.
“The main thing is that we look at the coaching staff we have right now and we take a look at what needs to be brought in to support Ben in his efforts.
“As we get that sorted out over the next many weeks, we’ll see where it ends up. There is nothing going on right now, other than we now start the process of looking at what we have and how we improve on that side of the club.”
