Bromley boxing club’s youngster wins bronze medal at English championship
Bromley’s 2BX Boxing Club are celebrating Alfie Rawley clinching a bronze medal at the England Boxing Development Championships.
Rawley, 14, produced an impressive victory in his quarter-final contest as he defeated Ashton Rennie (Southampton), who is the Southern Counties champion in Southampton.
That secured the London champion his spot in the semi-finals in Birmingham last month.
Rawley was stopped by Aydlee Lowther, who went on to win the 48kg title. 2BX Boxing Club coach Billy Jackson said: “Alfie’s success can be attributed to his unwavering dedication and countless hours of training.
“His commitment to his craft and his relentless pursuit of excellence have undoubtedly paid off. As a rising star in the local boxing scene, Alfie has become an inspiration to aspiring young boxers in the community.
“With his current achievements, it is clear that Alfie Rawley has a bright future ahead. The boxing world eagerly awaits his next move, and we have no doubt that he will continue to make waves in the sport.”
