Bromley striker lands League Two Player of the Season award

Bromley striker Michael Cheek has been named the EFL League Two Player of the Season.

The 33-year-old has netted 23 league goals in his debut EFL campaign and is set to land the division’s Golden Boot award.

Striker Cheek has also picked up seven assists this season in the league as the Ravens have secured saftey with ease at the first time of asking.

Cheek was a veteran at National League level but made the step up to League Two last summer after he fired Bromley to promotion via the play-offs.

He has scored against AFC Wimbledon, Notts County, Colchester, Salford, Tranmere, Fleetwood and more this season.

“I believed in my own ability, it was just about getting to the EFL and someone taking that chance on me,” said Cheek, who also made the league’s Team of the Season.

“To come up with Bromley from the National League and into the EFL, I couldn’t have asked to do it in a better way.

“I’m happy to be here now and kick on.”
