Cardiff sack ex-Palace and Charlton defender – with Millwall up next
Cardiff City have sacked ex-Crystal Palace and Charlton defender Mark Hudson following a 1-1 draw with bottom-of-the-table Wigan Athletic.
The Bluebirds – who host Gary Rowett’s Millwall side next weekend – have placed Dean Whitehead in interim charge.
In the reverse fixture back in early September, goals from Charlie Cresswell and Benik Afobe gave the South Londoners all three points.
Cardiff are winless in nine games and are just three points above the Championship relegation zone.
Hudson, 40, won just four games from his 18 in charge of the Welsh side in all competitions.
A statement from the Cardiff board said: “The board of directors would like to place on record its thanks to Mark for all of his work as a player, coach and manager whilst with the Bluebirds.
“We wish Mark all the very best of luck for the future.”
