Charlton Athletic see Arsenal loan target deal gazumped by La Liga outfit Real Valladolid

Charlton Athletic look set to miss out on Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein with La Liga side Real Valladolid making a late play for his services.

The Addicks were hoping to conclude a season-long loan for the Estonian international.

But we broke the news earlier this afternoon on social media that the Spanish club, newly-promoted to the top flight, had stepped in to hijack the switch.

Charlton manager Nathan Jones wants to add another stopper to his squad and Hein was expected to be first choice in SE7.

The League One club previously wanted Viljami Sinisalo but Celtic snapped up the Finland international from Aston Villa.

Hein’s move to Real Valladolid is yet to be officially confirmed.
