Crystal Palace and Fulham to meet in FA Cup quarter-final at Craven Cottage
Fulham will face Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Both London clubs booked their progression this weekend with the Eagles first into the last-eight after a 3-1 victory over Millwall at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Liam Roberts’ early dismissal for a high challenge which saw Jean-Philippe Mateta stretchered off – needing 25 stitches in a severe cut to his left ear – left the Lions with a mountain to climb.
A Japhet Tanganga own goal put Palace ahead with Daniel Munoz adding a second. Wes Harding did cut the deficit just before the break but Eddie Nketiah restored the two-goal cushion in the second half.
Fulham won 4-3 on penalties at Manchester United on Sunday with goalkeeper Bernd Leno saving twice. The Whites converted all four of their spot-kicks.
Calvin Bassey had headed Marco Silva’s side in front just before half-time before Bruno Fernandes equalised.
It is a third meeting of the season for Palace and Fulham with the victor progressing to a Wembley semi-final.
The west Londoners were 2-0 winners at Selhurst Park in November against a severely-depleted Palace side. The Eagles won by the same scoreline at Craven Cottage at the end of last month.
The tie will take place at the end of March.
