Crystal Palace boss confirms double injury blow ahead of Brentford clash

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has revealed that Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure have both suffered knee injuries ahead of their Premier League clash on Sunday.

Centre-back Riad joined in the summer after spending the season on loan at Real Betis from Barcelona.

He picked up an MCL injury in the EFL Cup win over Norwich in August and has only played once in the Premier League this season.

Doucoure has had his minutes managed after suffering a serious Achilles injury against Luton in November 2023.

Glasner said: “Unfortunately, Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad both have knee injuries and aren’t available for Sunday’s game.

“The doctors have to look at them, and let’s see how it goes, but no [we don’t have a timeframe for their return] at the moment.

“Joel Ward is still out, Adam Wharton is still out.”

The Eagles boss confirmed that Jefferson Lerma is available for selection again after missing the 2-0 win at West Ham through illness.
