Crystal Palace boss Hodgson: That is two points dropped

Roy Hodgson felt his Crystal Palace side once again did enough to secure maximum points – and made no attempt to hide his frustration after the 2-2 draw against Everton.

“It is two points lost – not thrown away,” said the Eagles boss.

“I’m not happy with the two goals we conceded but if I looked at the total performance over the 95 or 96 minutes, I believe we played well enough to win the game.

“But there is no point keep sitting here saying we played well and deserved better. You get what you get – deserve doesn’t come into it.

“What we have got is two draws and two defeats. It doesn’t matter what I say.”

Hodgson sidestepped a question over Everton’s first equaliser when Oumar Niasse went down in the box – and a penalty was awarded by referee Anthony Taylor. Leighton Baines stuck the spot-kick away.

“I’m pretty certain you will have asked David Unsworth the same question and he said he feels it is a foul.

“The referee gives the penalty – we can discuss it until the cows come home but he gave it, they scored it and that’s the end of it.”
