Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise set for extended sideline injury spell

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise is set for at least two months on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury in the 4-1 defeat at Brighton on Saturday.

The 22-year-old was brought on at half-time before being replaced nine minutes later by Matheus Franca.

He was only fit enough to start the clash at The Amex on the bench after limping off in Palace’s 3-2 win over Sheffield United last Tuesday in the 59th minute.

Olise needed hamstring surgery over the summer after picking up an injury representing France’s U21 side at the European Championships.

He has seen his season hampered by injuries – also missing games against Everton in the FA Cup and the 5-0 defeat at Arsenal in the Premier League after picking up another hamstring problem in the 3-1 win over Brentford.

The former Reading attacker has nine goal contributions in 11 appearances to his name this season.
