Dons snap up Stockport free transfer

AFC Wimbledon have signed Myles Hippolyte on a two-year deal following his release from Stockport.

Hippolyte made 18 appearances for League Two winners Stockport, picking up an assist in the 4-2 win over Accrington Stanley in the penultimate game of the campaign.

The winger has had spells at Falkirk, Livingston, Scunthorpe and Dunfermline during his senior career.

Hoppolyte becomes Johnnie Jackson’s second signing of the summer window after Matty Stevens arrived on a free transfer from Forest Green.

He told the club website: “I know all about the history of the Club and I have some good relationships with friends here. This is a project that I wanted to be a part of.

“This is a great place to call home, and hopefully, I have a lot of success here. The aim is to try and get as high as I can over the next couple of years. AFC Wimbledon has everything I need to help me do that.”

Johnnie Jackson said: “Myles is an exciting attacking player who wants to get on the ball, get at people and create.  I’m sure our supporters will enjoy watching him play.

“He has a wealth of experience, and, really importantly, he knows what success at this level looks like, having just won League Two with Stockport.

“As soon as we spoke, I could tell he was hungry to be a part of what we are building here, and we are delighted to welcome him to the AFC Wimbledon family.”
