Dulwich Hamlet boss trying to be cute in transfer market as he targets striker signing

Gavin Rose is looking to add a striker to his Dulwich Hamlet ranks – but admits that means getting creative with the financial restrictions on the Bostik League Premier Division leaders.

Gavin Tomlin is likely to miss the rest of the season with a broken leg while Nana Boakye-Yiadom, Nyren Clunis and Dumebi Dumaka are also sidelined.

“We are trying to get one in,” said Rose. “But we have financial constraints, as everybody knows.

“We’re trying to get one in as a favour. We are really short on forwards. We’re just trying to be as creative as possible and get someone to help us, at least in the short term until some of the injured players get back.

“There are some clubs who need players to get game time. We’re trying to see if we can meet them halfway.”

Michael Chambers injured his ankle against Harrow Borough and the former Crystal Palace defender is set for another fortnight on the sidelines.

“We’ve been down to the bare bones,” said Rose. “Our bench had two fit players to come off it.”
