Crystal Palace are looking to sign full-back competition this summer, with recently released Ryan Sessegnon a name under consideration.
The South London Press understands that the 24-year-old, who was let go by Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, is amongst the list of names Palace is eyeing this transfer window.
Sessegnon only featured 57 times for Spurs after joining from Fulham in 2019, with the north Londoners shelling out £25million to secure the then 19-year-old’s services after a campaign that saw him win Championship Player of the Year as the Cottagers were promoted to the Premier League.
The versatile left-sided player has suffered with hamstring problems during his time at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Palace taking Sessegnon’s injury record into account ahead of a potential signing.
Ex-Hoffenheim loanee Sessegnon can play left-back, left midfield, or on the left wing, which would provide excellent cover to Oliver Glasner’s squad heading into the Austrian’s first full season in charge at Selhurst Park.
Academy graduate Tyirck Mitchell started every game under Glasner, but the Eagles have no natural replacement to fill in at the left wing-back role.
Sessegnon, who had played over 120 games by the time he was 19, has also been linked with a potential return to Fulham this summer.
He only featured once for Spurs last season, playing seven minutes in an FA Cup third round win over Burnley.
