Ryan Leonard and George Saville will be Millwall players again next season after triggering contract extensions.
The pair, who have both been mainstays of the Lions side since Neil Harris returned as head coach in late February, had appearance-based clauses in their contracts.
Leonard, 31, has featured 33 times in the current campaign with 31 of those outings in the Championship. The former Southend United and Sheffield United midfielder has played at right-back in all the fixtures under Harris and was excellent as his nullified the threat of Stephy Mavididi in Tuesday night’s 1-0 victory over Leicester City at The Den.
Leonard has made 161 appearances for the South Londoners, scoring five times, since arriving from Sheffield United for a seven-figure fee in 2019.
Northern Ireland international Saville has played the full 90 minutes in eight of Harris’ nine games at the helm. The ex-Chelsea youngster is on 37 appearances this season and is 12 matches away from 200 for the South Londoners.
Saville and Billy Mitchell have been the chosen midfield pairing for Harris with summer signing Casper De Norre serving as back up.
