Former Charlton keeper sacked by League One side
Crawley Town have sacked former Charlton goalkeeper Rob Elliot with the League One side 12 points adrift of safety.
Elliot, 38, was appointed in October after Scott Lindsey left to join League Two side Milton Keynes.
The former Gateshead boss won six of his 33 matches in charge of the Reds, who won the League Two play-off final last season.
Greenwich-born Elliot progressed through Charlton’s academy to make 109 senior appearances for the club.
Elliot beat Charlton 2-1 in December but recently lost 1-0 to Nathan Jones’ side.
“The club would like to thank Rob for all of his efforts during his time at the Broadfield Stadium and wish him all the best for the future,” said Crawley in their statement.
