Former Crystal Palace winger joins Isthmian League Premier Division side following League Two release

Former Crystal Palace winger Sean Scannell has joined Isthmian League Premier Division side Hornchurch FC.

Hornchurch are managed by former Millwall striker and Cardiff boss Steve Morison.

Scannell, 32, was released by League Two side Grimsby Town at the end of last season after making just two appearances during the campaign.

The Croydon-born forward came through Palace’s academy and made 141 appearances for the Eagles.

Scannell has turned out for Huddersfield Town, Bradford and Blackpool since leaving Selhurst Park in 2012.

“A highly talented player, Sean has proven himself on the field time and time again. With his exceptional technical abilities, we are confident that he will make a significant impact on our team’s performance.
