Glyn Hodges only has one gripe after AFC Wimbledon’s victory at Swindon Town

Glyn Hodges had only one complaint after his AFC Wimbledon side’s 1-0 win at Swindon Town yesterday.

The Dons are 10th in the League One standings after collecting their second win on the road. They are unbeaten away this season, banking seven points from a possible nine.

Striker Joe Pigott grabbed his third goal of the campaign. He also has four assists.

“He’s a big player for us,” said Hodges. “He’s leading the group. It’s a great goal. It’s a great cross and he’s taken it really well.

“They’ve got a good partnership up there and hopefully there is more to come.

“I’m pleased with the start. We’ve got eight points. We’ve got a home game now and we just want it to continue. The boys are confident and cock-a-hoop – the music is blasting in there [the dressing room].

“There’s lot to be happy about.

“The key was the boys’ work-rate and the shape. We worked on it and we knew what we wanted to do – the only thing we didn’t do as well as I’d like is counter. We did it in the first half and opened them up a couple of times. We didn’t do it in the second half, although we had opportunities.

“We probably defended a bit more than we wanted to do, but they defended brilliantly.
