AFC Wimbledon Women beat Charlton Athletic U21s 3-0 in the Capital Cup at Plough Lane on Sunday.
The first chance of the game fell to the Dons as Sandra Soares Martins forced a save out of the Charlton goalkeeper and the ball rebounded to Ellie Dorey, whose shot was palmed away.
Molly Childerhouse also forced a save out of the Addicks keeper as the Dons looked for the opener in the first 10 minutes.
Ashlee Hincks stood over a corner after the Dons won a series of set pieces. She swung the ball in beautifully and Hannah Mackenzie was there at the back post to head the ball home.
Dorey tried her luck from range as the Dons searched for a second goal and forced a stop out of the keeper. Half an hour into the game and the home side looked comfortable.
Emily Donovan caused havoc down the left-hand side as she sent a searching ball in towards Martins, that resulted in a corner. The corner caused all sorts of problems for the Charlton defence, and the Dons were awarded a penalty for a handball in the area.
Hincks stepped up and converted from the spot.
Lauren Allen was called into action just before the half ended and pulled off a fantastic stop to deny Charlton from scoring just before half-time.
Martins put some excellent pressure on the Charlton goalkeeper to force an error at the start of the second half, Hincks’ putting her effort just over the bar.
As the clock hit the hour mark, Kevin Foster made his first change, as Martins made way for Lucy Porter.
Ashleigh Goddard played a lovely ball into Hincks, who had the goalkeeper at full-stretch to tip her shot over the bar.
Fran Ali was introduced to replace Childerhouse as the Dons searched for a third goal. Not long after, Remmi Gardner was brought on in place of Goddard.
The Dons won another penalty when Emily Donovan was fouled in the box. Hincks stood over it yet again and secured herself a brace from the spot.
