‘I don’t think it’s fair’ – Millwall boss Alex Neil asked about Joe Bryan’s long-term future

Millwall head coach Alex Neil has remained coy on Joe Bryan’s Den future.

The 31-year-old left-back has been in fine form and is out of contract at the end of the season.

Neil, asked if he wanted to keep Bryan, told the South London Press: “I don’t think it’s fair to talk about any individual. That’s a collective thing with how the squad is going to look next year and how we’re going to shape it.

“The last thing I’m going to do is talk about individuals before I speak to them.

“Joe is one of many players we have got coming out of contract in the summer. We will see where we go with him.

“When I first came in, there were a couple of own goals and stuff like that. There were a couple of positioning issues we needed to try and remedy.

“But ultimately, players are decided how well they play by decisions they make in possession and out of possession. How they use the ball, if they win their duels and win their tackles.

“Joe has been very, very consistent recently. His level of performance has been excellent. We’re hoping that’s going to continue.”
