‘I want to be taken seriously as a manager’ – Andy Woodman demanding more from Bromley
BY MITCHELL HALL
Andy Woodman emphasised his desire to take his and the club’s success further in the EFL in the wake of Bromley’s 1-0 win over Morecambe at Hayes Lane today.
Michael Cheek’s 48th-minute penalty was the only goal of the contest, carrying the Ravens towards what will surely be a comfortable mid-table finish in their debut campaign in League Two.
Bromley were favourites to go down ahead of the season’s start, and Woodman is determined to make sure their reputation continues to surpass expectations in the years to come.
“What is important for me is I want to be taken seriously as a manager,” said Woodman. “And you only get taken seriously by winning, and by doing things right.
“I am enjoying being a league manager and I want more, of course. I want success.

“I am more proud of the culture we have created here, that is the important thing, and wherever I go, whatever I do, there will always be that culture wherever I work.”
Woodman also reflected on the step up in quality from non-League to the EFL, and how his team have adjusted to the new level.
“It has been a step in standard, for sure,” said Woodman. “A step up in terms of quality squads, substitutions…..everything.
“There has been a good learning curve for me in this league.
“I will look back and there will be disappointment with one or two results maybe from this season.
“But I have to take stock of the job we have done, and what we have done and where we are, and it has been a good season.

“We have got to make sure that our squad is strengthened this summer and we start again in August.
“It seems around the corner. I have not even finished and I am thinking about next season!”
