IBF king Daniel Dubois on ‘seek and destroy’ mission as he targets heavyweight unification clash
IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois wants to face the winner of this month’s showdown in Saudi Arabia between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
Greenwich’s Dubois is coming off easily his most impressive victory of his professional career after blitzing Anthony Joshua in five rounds at Wembley in September.
The 27-year-old is set to make the second defence of his title against Joseph Parker on February 22 in Riyadh.
Usyk became undisputed king after a split decision win over Fury in May but then vacated the IBF belt. It meant Dubois, who had claimed the governing body’s interim title after halting Filip Hrgovic in June, was upgraded to their full champion.
Asked about taking on either Usyk or Fury, Dubois said: “Definitely, I’m coming for the belts and going right through them. The top guys, I want them all.
“If it’s Usyk then it will be revenge and if it is Fury then I’m ready to cover that territory as well.
“Seek and destroy – that’s my mindset.
“He (Parker) has been at the top of the mountain and is a veteran now. I need to go in there and be better than him in every department.
“I’ve got some big fights lined up but it is about taking one fight at a time – not overlooking anyone. Keep coming through them and I will be the undisputed – that’s my goal.”
