‘I’m convinced’ – Oliver Glasner makes Crystal Palace squad prediction with crucial clash against Burnley coming up
New Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is convinced there is enough within the squad to escape Premier League relegation.
The 49-year-old replaced Roy Hodgson on Monday and watched on from the stands as the Eagles picked up a point in their 1-1 draw at Everton.
Glasner, who won the Europa League at Eintracht Frankfurt, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Selhurst Park.
The South Londoners are five points clear of the bottom three and host relegation-threatened Burnley in Glasner’s first game in charge on Saturday.
Former Wolfsburg boss Glasner will be without Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise, Marc Guehi, Will Hughes and Jeffrey Schlupp for the clash.
Palace have been in the Premier League for 11 seasons since winning promotion under Ian Holloway in the 2012-13 campaign.
Glasner said: “We have everything we need in the squad to win Premier League games – the team showed it already. Especially at home.
“I’m convinced because otherwise, I wouldn’t sit here. If I was afraid that we would get relegated, I wouldn’t be here.
“I’m convinced of the quality of the players and the quality of Crystal Palace. I’m really convinced of the support of our fans.”
