‘It does’ – Burnley boss Scott Parker looking for last day revenge in Millwall clash
Burnley boss Scott Parker admitted his side’s last Championship defeat to Millwall 32 league outings ago sticks in the throat.
The Clarets have already clinched promotion back to the Premier League, but can win the title as long as they pick up more points than Leeds this weekend.
Alex Neil’s Lions head to Turf Moor knowing that they will claim a play-off spot if they pick up more points than sixth-placed Coventry.
The South Londoners were the last team to beat Burnley in the Championship – a 1-0 win at The Den in November.
“Alex has done very well,” said Parker.
“He’s a brilliant coach. He’s gone in there and done really well in the way he sets his team up.
“They’re an aggressive team in both phases of how they play game. It’s always a tough game.
“This was the last team we lost to – we know the challenges which are head of us.
“It does [stick in the throat].
“It was a disappointing night for us [at The Den]. It was a long time ago for us. It gave us a little jab and wake up.
“Did I expect us to go and do what we have did since then? Probably not to be honest.
“They’re a good side and they know what they do. We have to be fully aware of that ahead of the weekend.”
