Johnnie Jackson praises George Dobson for “outstanding” display during Charlton’s win at former club Sunderland

Johnnie Jackson heaped praise on midfielder George Dobson after he impressed during the 1-0 win at former side Sunderland.
The summer arrival at The Valley hadn’t featured in any of the final six games of Nigel Adkins spell in charge at Charlton but was thrown back in straight away to sit in front of the back-three by Jackson as the Addicks earned all three points at the Stadium of Light.
The 23-year-old engine roomer, who made 34 league appearances over two years with the Black Cats, impressed as he helped the South Londoners hang on for just their third win of the campaign.
Jackson said: “I thought he was outstanding. I knew he’d be up for the game because of the nature of it and his stint here having played for the club. But I also know what George is about as a player.
“[Alex] Pritchard plays for them as a 10 and he’s dangerous and can create a lot for them. I saw George as the perfect foil for that. What I asked for him, he’s done absolutely to the letter. I thought he was outstanding.”
