Addicks boss Karl Robinson: We know there are clubs ready to bid for Charlton ace
Karl Robinson reckons there are clubs lining up bids for Ezri Konsa – but that no formal offer has been made for the young defender.
Our paper the South London Press exclusively revealed that Brighton had joined the list of admirers for the England under-20 international, with Everton also long-term trackers.
But asked this morning about Konsa – with one national newspaper claiming later that the Seagulls were ready to pay £8million for the South Londoner – Robinson said: “We’ve not had a bid at all for Eze. We’re aware there are people lining bids up and a lot of teams looking at him.
“The difference between him and Ade [Lookman] is that he’s a centre-back. So it’s a little bit different, the age they move at. He’s been unreal for us this year.
“In a selfish way I want all my players to achieve their goals and what they want to achieve at Charlton Athletic, to get this club back to where it belongs. That seems a distant dream away. But that is what I want, for us to do something special. At some stage this place is going to change.
“We are trying to change it for the right reasons, the best reasons.”
