Charlton caretaker manager Lee Bowyer admits that Josh Magennis’ future is out of his control.
The South London Press revealed on Thursday that the Northern Irish international was the subject of an unsuccessful bid from fellow League One side Peterborough United.
And Bowyer says that he can’t be certain that he’ll be able to keep last season’s top-scorer at The Valley.
“I don’t know,” admitted the Addicks chief.
“It’s not my decision. But the good thing is that we’ve turned an offer down for him. He’s an Irish international, I’m surprised they’re the only ones who have tried to buy him. Will that be the last bid? Probably not, for any of the players. We’ll see what happens nearer the time.
“We’re trying to get players in, it’s football, it happens. People come and people go. That’s something that’s out of my hands, unfortunately.”
