Lions have made ‘fantastic offer’ to Tottenham defender – with hint they may soon move for other targets
Millwall head coach Neil Harris has hinted they could be set to switch their central defensive transfer target with Japhet Tanganga still yet to make his future intentions clear.
The Lions want to sign the former England U21 international, who spent the second half of last season on loan with the Lions and was rock solid once Harris succeeded Joe Edwards in the Den hotseat.
Centre-back Tanganga is out of contract on July 1.
Harris, asked for an update, told the South London Press: “What I will say now that we’re six weeks down the line from when we talked about it, ultimately we have made Japh a fantastic offer to come to the football club.
“I can’t ask the football club to do any more. He has been a number one priority and target for us all summer.
“But on June 27 we are still sat here and talking about Japhet Tanganga. We can’t do any more than what we’re doing. I fully understand players wanting to play at the highest level possible.
“We are in the realms now that yes, we have players as priorities in positions – but you can’t wait. We always have a plan B, C and D in our minds. Sometimes you just have to move on to plan B.”
He is not Millwall material. His intensions are clearly money motivated. Is got to be Creswell please Millwall.
