‘Maybe it’s welcome back to reality?’ – Palace boss asked about wait for Premier League win after Everton defeat
Crystal Palace are without a win in their first six Premier League games of the season following their 2-1 defeat at Everton on Saturday.
The Eagles took the lead at Goodison Park through Marc Guehi, who finished a header back across goal from from Maxence Lacroix.
But two goals from Dwight McNeil after half-time – including a curling left-footed shot from distance – gave Sean Dyche’s side their first three points of the season.
The Eagles won five of their final six Premier League games last season under Glasner and scored 20 goals in the process.
When asked by the BBC about the wait for a win, Glasner said: “We know it – we look at the table. Maybe it’s welcome back to reality?
“Maybe we’re flying too high after the great finish of [last] season?
“Many forgot that seven games before the end of the season, we were five points away from relegation.
“The Premier League is a fight. Especially here at Goodison Park, it’s about defending long balls.
“This is also a part of the game. We have to be ready for this.
“We have to be ready for second balls and ready for this fight. We have been over 75 minutes, but not over the whole 95 minutes. That’s why we lost.”
