Millwall boss: Executing a gameplan for 90 minutes is hard

Neil Harris pointed out it is hard for any side to dominate for 90 minutes after Millwall’s 2-1 win over Derby County.
The Lions are unbeaten after three Championship matches.
“It is difficult to execute a gameplan for 90 minutes. Today we were brilliant for 45 minutes and not so good for the last 30 when we got tired. Derby did it really well for the last 60 minutes but not in the first half hour [when both Millwall goals were scored].
“You have to earn the right to win – it doesn’t matter if you score in the first minute or the last minute. Three points are three points. We managed the end of the game much better.
“Frank [Lampard] will be a little disappointed in the goals they conceded to give us the points. The first half-hour – maybe the first half – I thought we were excellent.
“Derby showed their class in the second half and made it really difficult for us. Our subs coming on played a huge part because we had some tired legs at the end.
“The cohesion we had in the first half-hour meant we pressed the ball really well and got after Derby at the right times, we asked a lot of questions of them.
“We always approach the game with the right mentality as Millwall Football Club – but there is a difference in approaching a game and executing it.”
