Millwall boss up for Championship April award – up against two promotion-winning managers

Millwall boss Alex Neil has been nominated for the Championship Manager of the Month for April.

The Lions manager picked up wins against Portsmouth, Sheffield United, Middlesbrough, Norwich and Swansea last month as he moved his side to the cusp of the play-offs.

Millwall’s only defeat came against Blackburn in a 4-1 loss at Ewood Park.

This is the first time Neil has been up for the award since he arrived at The Den in December following Neil Harris’ departure.

Ex-Norwich boss Neil is up against Leeds United’s Daniel Farke, who picked up five straight wins and scored 14 goals in the process.

Blackburn’s Valerien Ismael and Burnley’s Scott Parker are also up for the prize.

The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.

The winner will be announced Friday morning at 9 am.
