Millwall confirm club-record capture of Serbian striker Mihailo Ivanovic

Millwall have confirmed the signing of Serbian striker Mihailo Ivanovic.

The 19-year-old joins for a club record fee which is in excess of £2.5million.

Ivanovic arrives from Vojvodina, who compete in Serbia’s top-flight, with the Lions adding he has put pen to paper on a “long-term contract”.

Millwall have brought in two strikers on deadline day with Middlesbrough’s Josh Coburn arriving on loan.

Ivanovic’s move is subject to international clearance. Only Coburn is available for today’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Millwall’s director of football Steve Gallen said: “Mihailo is a big signing for the football club.

“He is soon to be a Serbian international and is 19-years-old, so he fits the bill of the players we have tried to sign in this transfer window.

“He is young, powerful, athletic and quick – more of a number nine in running the channels and good with his back to goal. I think we all understand we have to be patient with him – I’m sure the fans will be, I know we will be.

“We’re really pleased to get this deal over the line.”
