Millwall confirm Danny McNamara set for lengthy injury spell and also provide Ryan Leonard update

Millwall have confirmed that Danny McNamara will undergo surgery on a serious knee injury he sustained against Cardiff City on Tuesday.

No specific timescale is being placed on McNamara’s return to action at this stage. The 26-year-old was stretchered off at The Den as the Lions conceded late on to draw 2-2.

McNamara originally replaced Leonard in the 56th minute after he was forced off through injury too.

A statement on the club’s website said: “Ryan has suffered a significant calf injury and will require further scans to determine his rehabilitation steps.

“The club sends its best wishes to Danny and Ryan during their recovery.”
