Millwall sign second January transfer signing – with Burnley striker completing medical
Millwall have confirmed the loan signing of Michael Obafemi from Burnley after he passed a medical on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old striker will become Joe Edwards’ second signing of January, joining Spurs defender Japhet Tanganga through the doors at The Den.
Obafemi scored five goals in 31 appearances for Burnley last season as they won the Championship title.
He has only featured twice in the Premier League this season under Vincent Kompany.
The Republic of Ireland International has also had spells at Southampton and Swansea during his career.
Millwall were in the market for a striker with Tom Bradshaw being ruled out due to a hamstring injury.
Obafemi said: “I’ve been in this league before so I know what it’s about.
“Scoring goals is what I want to do and I think I can do that here.
“That’s the main thing for me, scoring goals and helping the team push up as a high in the league table and showing my quality”
