Millwall set to confirm Tom Bradshaw deal this evening – striker completes medical

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Millwall are set to confirm the signing of Tom Bradshaw this evening – with only formalities left in concluding his club-record switch to The Den.

The South London Press understands that the 26-year-old has completed his medical.

The Lions have agreed a £1million deal with Barnsley for the Wales international which will finally break their previous record – £800,000 for Paul Goddard in December 1989.

Initially it will be a loan deal but will click into a permanent move at the start of the January transfer window.

Bradshaw’s switch to the Championship side is expected to be official confirmed by Millwall later today.

Barnsley assistant head coach Andreas Winkler confirmed earlier today that the forward was wrapping up his switch.

Winkler said: “We are very disappointed. Everybody – the staff and players.

“He is a really good player who fits into the squad and style of football and has personality and character. He’s a really nice guy.

“We were informed on Tuesday about the situation.

“It is not easy [for Bradshaw]. It is a little bit complicated and a private situation. He wants to move to get close to the south. His girlfriend lives in the south and they want to raise a family. We understand, but from a football point of view, it’s disappointing.”
