Nathan Jones asked if Charlton Athletic could utilise the free agent market following closure of transfer window
Charlton boss Nathan Jones hasn’t ruled out a plunge into the free agent market now that the transfer window has closed.
Luton Town loanee Allan Campbell became the Addicks’ ninth arrival of the summer on Bank Holiday Monday – with no further additions before the window shut on Friday evening.
The Addicks had made strides to try and add an additional goalkeeper earlier in the window and also had a look at unattached players such as Danny Hylton and Dan Potts on trial in pre-season.
Jones delved into the free agent market last season and when asked if he may do again this year, said: “We’ll see what we are able to do.
“We’ve had a good window. We’ve strengthened the squad considerably, significantly. We’d like to keep adding a bit more quality.
“We know we can’t compete with certain people and so on. But it’s been a good window. We’ve brought in people that have significantly improved us.”
