Nathan Jones wants Charlton to right wrongs from Exeter defeat – and gives goalkeeper injury update
Nathan Jones wants his Charlton Athletic side to make amends for their defeat 1-0 at Exeter back in November when they host Gary Caldwell’s side at The Valley on Saturday.
Now Millwall defender Tristan Crama scored the only goal of the game in the 59th minute to claim all three points and move the the Grecians up to 11th at the time.
Exeter now head to South London 17th in the League One table and the Addicks are seventh – three points off the play-offs.
Jones said: “It’s another League One game that will be very difficult – we were nowhere near our level when we played them down there.
“That’s what we need to concentrate on. We have had a few results this year where we haven’t been ourselves or given ourselves justice – that was one of them.
“We want to put that right. It’s not about looking backwards, it’s about looking forwards.
“We’re looking forward to the game. We’re very good at home and we want that to continue.”
Goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer was forced off at half-time in the 1-0 defeat at Birmingham City on Saturday, with Will Mannoion coming on in his place.
“Ash has a groin injury,” said Jones.
“He will be out. For how long? We don’t really know yet. We have an idea, but there is no point in speculating.
“We have to wait a few days for it to settle down so we have a better understanding of it.”
