Newcastle United make fourth bid for Crystal Palace defender
Premier League rivals Newcastle United have made a fourth bid for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 24-year-old has been subject to multiple bids from the Magpies this summer, but the Eagles have knocked back all three approaches so far.
Newcastle’s new bid is thought to be closer to the £65million mark, with Palace taking the new offer under consideration.
Should the South Londoners accept the offer, it would surpass the club record sale of £50million that Palace banked when Aaron Wan-Bissaka was sold to Manchester United.
Lewisham-raised Guehi has played 111 times for Palace since a 2021 move from Chelsea and impressed for England on their run to the Euro 2024 final.
He captained the Eagles in their final pre-season outing – a 1-1 draw with French side Nantes.
