Picture gallery: Romain Esse scores on Crystal Palace debut in Brentford defeat – ex-Millwall winger nets with first touch
Romain Esse made his Crystal Palace debut and scored on Sunday as his new side fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Brentford.
The Eagles went two down in the second half through goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Kevin Schade.
Esse, who switched The Den for Selhurst Park in a £14.5million move last Saturday, was brought on in the 82nd minute for Chris Richards.
He scored with his very first touch – just 119 seconds after coming on – in a Crystal Palace shirt when he converted Daniel Munoz’s cross along the face of goal to set up a grandstand finish.
But Oliver Glasner’s side were unable to find an equaliser and fell to defeat.
