‘Really evolved’ – Pompey boss makes Millwall admission ahead of Championship clash

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho says Millwall have evolved as a footballing side.

The Lions host Pompey at The Den tomorrow, with Alex Neil’s side needing all three points to keep their play-off hopes alive.

Mihailo Ivanovic’s first-half goal was the difference in late January when the two sides last met.

Pompey are set to secure their Championship status at the first time of asking after winning promotion from League One last season.

“They’re a really good side,” said Mousinho.

“We saw that at Fratton Park. I have seen that too in the last couple of games that they have played.

“I thought they were really unlucky against Sunderland not to take more from the game.

“They lost 1-0 but they played some really good football.

“They have really evolved as a footballing side and have threats all over the pitch.

“We expect a really tough game. Any time you go away to Millwall, it’s always going to be a difficult game.”
