Steve Bruce makes Charlton season prediction ahead of Blackpool clash

Blackpool boss Steve Bruce expects Charlton to be fighting for promotion come the end of the season.

The Addicks are one point off the top six heading into Saturday’s clash at Bloomfield Road after suffering just one defeat in their last 10 League One outings.

Former Crystal Palace boss Bruce is unbeaten in five with the Tangerines, who are 13th in the table and seven points from the play-off spots.

Blackpool have had away games on the spin, travelling to Exeter and then Lincoln in mid-week.

“It’s important that they have had a couple of days rest,” said Bruce.

“It hasn’t been easy – I have to tell you. With a couple of good results, we have put ourselves in a really good position.

“It’s a big game tomorrow – a tough game.

“I expect Charlton to be there or thereabouts. We had a good victory against them down there.

“They’re in good form too – it will be a good game.”
