Tristan Crama happy to stay in right-back position for Millwall

Tristan Crama is happy to carry on deputising at right-back after a positive first start in that position in Millwall’s 1-0 win over Luton Town on Saturday.

The former Brentford centre-back, signed in the current transfer window, played in a new role due to injuries to Ryan Leonard and Danny McNamara.

No timescale has been mentioned for the pair but both look to be longer term, with the Lions confirming at the end of last week that McNamara had suffered a serious knee injury.

Crama won the man of the match award from Sky Sports, who televised the Championship match at Kenilworth Road.

“It was a tough game but a very important win after the draw in the last minute of the last game,” he told Millwall TV. “We wanted to bounce back with three points and a clean sheet as well. We take the confidence from that and go from there.

“It was a really good personal thing (to win the award) but the most important thing was the win today and, as a defender, the clean sheet is also good.

“It is not the same but I try and do the basics. When I spoke to the gaffer I said: ‘It’s not a problem. I will take my chance’. I think I did well today. If I have to play right-back for the rest of the season, I don’t mind it!”
