‘We can’t get carried away’ – Andy Woodman urges for calm after Bromley pick up very first EFL win
Bromley boss Andy Woodman wants to keep his side grounded after they won their first-ever League Two game in a 2-0 victory at Harrogate on Saturday afternoon.
Michael Cheek, in his very first EFL game at 32, opened the scoring in the 62nd minute when he turned home Idris Odutayo’s shot back across goal.
Millwall loanee Kamar Grant, 21, scored his first EFL goal nine minutes later to seal a historic win from Andy Woodman’s side.
“That is exactly what I wanted to do,” Woodman told Bromley’s YouTube channel.
“We can park all of that now. I want the fans and the people at the club to enjoy it, but I have a group of players I need to keep focused.
“It’s one game and we can’t get too carried away. We’re off the mark. We have another game on Tuesday and Saturday.
“We have to get our heads on our business and get ready to go again.
“There’s not a player in that dressing room who couldn’t start today – I have been blessed that so many players have been so good,
“I could name all the players – they were all good to a man. As much as I want to give praise, I want to keep us all grounded.
“We have a lot of games ahead of us. We haven’t got the biggest squad but we have the most honest squad.”
