‘We could not ask for more’ – Hull boss Selles delighted after away day victory against Millwall
Hull City boss Ruben Selles was delighted with his side’s performance as they left Millwall with all three points on Saturday lunchtime.
An own goal from Millwall captain Jake Cooper was enough to seal a fourth away win of the season for the Tigers, who moved above Luton Town and out of the bottom three ahead of the 3pm kick-offs.
“Coming here and getting the points is not easy, the performance was good and the goal was good, ” said Selles.
“We discuss every time we score, we then concede – we have conceded too many goals at this moment.
“The best way to manage those moments is to try and score the second goal and we know how to do it. They are going to put pressure on us and we have to play through it.”
It’s now back-to-back away wins and clean sheets for Hull.
Millwall found it very tough to break down the Tigers after they took the lead, something that the former Reading chief was delighted about.
He said. “We are doing it in the way we want to do it, building things, trying to control the game, be aggressive and play through the lines and keep the ball high and away from our goal.
“We could not ask for more today. It’s important now we have some rest and we go again on Monday to prepare for the game and then go again on Tuesday against QPR.”
