Wimbledon confirm ex-Cardiff midfielder’s exit
AFC Wimbledon have confirmed that Romaine Sawyers has left the club at the end of his one-month contract.
The 33-year-old joined the Dons on a short-term deal for one month to cope with the midfield injuries to Johnnie Jackson’s side.
Jake Reeves, Callum Maycock, James Ball and Myles Hippolyte were all missing when Sawyers signed.
Sawyers – capped 49 times by Saint Kitts and Nevis – made five appearances during his time at Wimbledon and scored in his final game – a 2-1 win over Newport County.
Wimbledon have confirmed that Sawyers will “pursue a new challenge” after leaving Plough Lane.
