Stoke City complete deals for Millwall striker Lee Gregory and ex-Charlton man Jordan Cousins

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Stoke City have confirmed deals for Lee Gregory and Jordan Cousins – two of five signings announced earlier today.

Striker Gregory joins on a free transfer from Millwall.

The Lions’ top-scorer had made it clear to the South London club that he would be moving on this summer after running his deal down and not engaging in contract talks.

Greenwich-raised Cousins, who had been a rising star at Charlton, had been released by QPR.

Stoke have also signed Adam Davies, Nick Powell and Liam Lindsay.

City boss Nathan Jones told the Stoke website: “I’m really pleased that we have managed to make these five signings. It has been an ongoing process for three to four months and I’d like to thank the club because they have backed my judgement.

Chief executive Tony Scholes added: “As I said at the end of last season this is going to be a busy summer for us in terms of player activity.

“In an ideal world every club would like to complete the bulk of their incoming transfer activity before the start of pre-season training.”
