Striker injury blow for Crystal Palace

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Cenk Tosun’s loan stay at Crystal Palace is over after he suffered a serious knee injury in training.

The Turkish international had moved to the South London club at the end of the January transfer window.

But Tosun damaged his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on Monday. He made five appearances for the Eagles but will go under the knife next week.

“The player will continue his rehabilitation under the care of Everton’s medical staff at the club’s USM Finch Farm training headquarters following the surgical procedure on his ACL,” said Everton in a statement.
