Table tennis: South Bermondsey club celebrating medal haul

Larry Trumpauskas from Fusion Table Tennis Club in South Bermondsey has won the national junior boys’ singles.

He also won the Cadet (U15) title at the end of April.

Trumpauskas is ranked 18th in England and was not seeded for his latest tournament victory. He defeated England star Connor Green to lift the junior nationals title with a 3-0 win (11-8, 11-8 and 11-9).

He overwhelmed fifth seed Louis Price 3-2 in the semi-finals with his backhand topspins crucial to his victory.

Trumpauskas has been playing table tennis since the age of seven. He defeated Ralp Pattison 3-0 (12-10, 11-7 and 11-8) in the Cadet singles.
