The England player seeing coaching work coming to fruition – as she lines up against France

England women’s rugby star Vicky Fleetwood could line up against France in the Pyrenees tomorrow – but her work coaching young players will bear fruit at a tournament on her home turf at the same time.

The inaugural Kent Under 13 Girls rugby championships culminates in a Finals Day at Old Colfeians Rugby Football Club this Sunday (2nd February).
The home club has its own female section, with U13s, U15s and U18s – trained by England International Vicky.  The U13s are competing on Sunday for the cup as they came top of their group in the qualifier.
Whilst the County’s Under 15 and 18 Girls play in leagues, the younger girls participate in a “waterfall” format designed to ensure that each side plays at the appropriate level to aid development. All players receive the same time on the pitch and  participation medals.
A streaming day was held at Folkestone in December so that the 10 squads of girls from all around the county will be playing against teams of an equivalent ability as they contest the Kent Cup, Plate and Bowl round robin groups at the Lee-based club.
Entry to the 11am event is £5 per family which includes the parking and programme.
